Sh. L.C. Trivedi retired as General Manager of East Central Railway in June 2021, holding a position equivalent to Secretary to the Government of India in apex grade. He was a university gold medalist in the Engineering faculty and topped the UPSC Engineering Services examination in the 1981 batch. He is a Fellow of the prestigious Institute of Mechanical Engineering in London and has completed management courses at renowned institutions, including HEC Paris and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA.

Throughout his distinguished 40-year career, he initially served NTPC for two years and then dedicated 38 years to Indian Railways. He has received multiple awards for his outstanding performance across several assignments. In his last role as General Manager of East Central Railway, he implemented unprecedented improvements in railway infrastructure across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Earlier, as Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, he initiated the manufacture of high-speed coaches at ICF Chennai, transforming it into the largest rail coach manufacturing factory in the country.

As Chief Safety Officer of North East Frontier Railways, he served the northeastern states and West Bengal, improving the railway's safety record after the Gaisal railway accident, which was the worst in the history of Indian Railways. During his tenure, no lives were lost. He has served almost all states of India throughout his distinguished career and has traveled extensively abroad.

He has attended numerous training courses conducted by the National Academy of Indian Railways, regional institutes of public administration, the Power Engineers Training Society, HEC Paris, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Institute of Mechanical Engineering in London. The Honorable Minister has specially nominated him as a faculty member in Rail Sahyog, a recently formed body dedicated to training railway professionals.

Sh. Trivedi has a special interest in social welfare schemes and has coordinated large-scale relief efforts during various calamities, particularly in flood-affected regions of Bihar during multiple monsoons (2018-2021), the management of Shramik Specials during the first wave of COVID- 19 (April-May 2020), medical treatment for victims of the second wave of COVID-19 (April- May 2021), the Gujarat earthquake (2001), and management of affected individuals during the Mumbai riots (1992).

He is a voracious reader and a poet, having written poems, including "ECR Geet," as well as works on COVID-19 and various contemporary themes. His interests, beyond railways—his first love—include Indian history, mythology, and modern financial engineering. He has visited most historical sites in India, locations connected with the Roman Empire, and remote areas of Northeast India and Chhattisgarh.
